Dying Light: The Beast - Manual Pages Farm Location & Guide (2025)
by AutumnThe story of Dying Light: Beast takes place in a highly active region.
Whether you’re mowing down zombies with a pickup truck or diving into ruined structures to look for gear, this guide will show you what you should do early on to quickly gear up Kyle Crane and prepare for the harsh wilderness ahead.

Buy Explorer Gear

When you reach City Hall, visit the merchant Doug and purchase several pieces from the Explorer Set.
Start with sunglasses, gloves, and bracers, because you will soon acquire the vest and pants.
This set increases the experience you gain, helping you level up faster to face upcoming challenges.
Each piece provides a modest +2% bonus, but it adds up over time.
Craft a Hunting Bow

The Hunting Bow is the first ranged weapon you can obtain in Dying Light: Beast.
Its blueprint is found at the first workbench you discover, and the required materials are relatively easy to obtain.
You may not be ready to craft it until you reach City Hall, where Doug can sell you any materials you’re missing.

At the same time, you will learn how to craft arrows for your bow. Doug also sells the materials you need, though only in small amounts at a time.
This makes the bow the only early-game ranged weapon for which you can reliably craft ammunition, turning it into a core part of Kyle Crane’s arsenal.
Pick Up the Heavy Vest & Heavy Pants

Both the Heavy Vest and Heavy Pants provide 5 points of Gear Armor, making them some of the best early-game equipment.
As soon as you can freely move around Old Town, go pick them up to significantly boost your survivability.

The Heavy Vest is located in the apartment Dark Zone in the Station Plaza near the train station in Old Town.

The Heavy Pants can be found in the apartment Dark Zone in Library Plaza at the upper part of the Old Town region.
Upgrade Your Bandage Blueprint

You should have picked up some Manual Pages in the two Dark Zones where you found the vest and pants.
Use them to upgrade your Bandage Blueprint, increasing its healing amount and use speed.

Other blueprints you may want to consider upgrading early:
Grenades
Throwing Knives
UV Flashlight
