How do you farm special terrain in Elden Ring: Night Reigns?
The method is: in single-player mode, repeatedly enter the game and return to the desktop until the desired terrain appears; in multiplayer mode, teammates must activate different terrain events, and the system will choose one at random; you can also advance time faster by investigating the bed in the Roundtable Hall to accelerate refresh cycles.
Next, let’s take a look at the special terrain farming method.

How to Farm Special Terrain in Elden Ring: Night Reigns

I. Core Farming Steps

1. Single-player Fast Refresh

Enter the game and switch to single-player mode, then choose any Night King to begin.

After starting, immediately open the map to check the current terrain.
If it does not match your target, press ESC → Return to Desktop, and repeat this process until the required terrain appears.

2. Multiplayer Selection Mechanism

In multiplayer mode, if players in the team have activated different terrain events (such as the Hidden City or the Volcano Crater), the system will randomly choose one to trigger.
Make sure at least one teammate has not skipped the desired terrain event.

II. Terrain Refresh Mechanism

1. Unlock After the First Sortie

After completing the first sortie mission, the special terrain system will be unlocked.
From then on, each time you return to the Roundtable Hall, there is a chance for a new terrain event to appear.

2. Skipping Time to Accelerate Refresh

In the Roundtable Hall, investigate the bed (through Touchpad → Rest Area) to skip time.
After repeating 3–4 sorties or time skips, the system will refresh new terrain events.

3. Terrain Trigger Priority

After the first sortie, the Volcano Crater terrain is very likely to appear first.
Following that, other terrains (Mountain Top, Rotting Forest, Hidden City) rotate randomly.
The Hidden City terrain overrides the central main city, so choose carefully.

III. Notes

1. Terrain and Shrinking Zones

The shrinking zone points of special terrain are fixed
(for example, the Hidden City shrinks toward the city gate).
Pay attention to time management to avoid mission failure caused by shrinking too quickly.

2. Terrain Reward Differences

  • Volcano Crater: Highest overall rewards, offers weapon upgrades and extra church resources, with a reasonable shrinking zone.

  • Hidden City: Highest risk; requires a team to challenge the boss, but rewards the entire team with a resurrection opportunity.

  • Rotting Forest: Requires solving puzzles quickly to resist rot; suitable for late-game growth.

  • Mountain Top: Low risk, suitable for avoiding combat and obtaining a frost resistance buff.
