Endless Siege - Netzgames Guide

I. Game Overview and Core Mechanics
Endless Siege is a tower defense game that tests resource planning and real-time strategy. The game has no end, only endless challenges; the goal is to survive as long as possible against the Orc hordes.
Daily Map Challenge: The game refreshes a brand-new map every day. The starting points, ending points, and tower base locations all change. This means there is no "universal formation," and players must formulate new tactics based on the day's terrain (e.g., number of corners, width of paths).
Dynamic Waves: Enemies will attack endlessly. Although the game allows manually clicking "Next Wave" to get extra gold, under high-pressure waves, rationally controlling the pace is more important than greed for gold.
Economic Strategy: The core gameplay lies in spending gold where it counts most. Should you fill the map with low-level towers or concentrate resources to build a super tower? This depends on your understanding of the tower upgrade mechanics.
II. Tower Compendium and Combat Roles
Based on attack characteristics, the four types of towers have clear divisions of labor: Ballistas and Torches are responsible for single-target "sniping," Cannons are responsible for "AoE" clearing, and Time Warps are responsible for crowd control.
Ballista

Attack Characteristic: [Single-Target Attack] High physical damage, long range.
Role: Main early-game damage source and late-game “finisher.” Used to kill stragglers or snipe high-armor units at range.
Exclusive Upgrade Strategy:
Mechanism: The Ballista has 3 stages (Tiers), with 10 levels per stage.
Suggestion: Do not rush to upgrade the tier! Be sure to maximize the current stage to level 10 before clicking Evolve. A max-level Ballista offers extremely high cost-performance; evolving too early can actually lower gold efficiency due to fire rate or damage overflow issues.
Torch

Attack Characteristic: [Single-Target Attack] High-frequency continuous burning.
Combat Role: Many mistakenly believe it deals area damage, but it is actually an extremely high-frequency single-target melter. It acts like a laser, latching onto one enemy for continuous output, making it very suitable for dealing with high-HP elite monsters (such as giant Orcs).
Exclusive Upgrade Strategy:
Mechanism: Divided into 3 stages, with 10 levels per stage.
Suggestion: Adopt a "Pyramid" configuration.
Place an appropriate number of Torches based on the number of intersections, and first upgrade them all to Tier 1 Level 10.
Select the most critical defensive positions (usually corners where monsters converge), evolve 1~2 Torches, and focus on raising them to Tier 2 Level 10.
This combination of "multiple maxed Tier 1 + core maxed Tier 2" ensures fire coverage while possessing the ability to handle Bosses.
Cannon

Attack Characteristic: [Close-Range Area Attack / AoE] Area explosive damage.
Combat Role: The only pure area-of-effect tower in the game. Facing dense swarms of small monsters, Ballistas and Torches cannot keep up due to their "single-target" nature; you must rely on the Cannon's area explosion to clear the screen quickly.
Exclusive Upgrade Strategy:
Mechanism: Divided into 3 stages, with 10 levels per stage.
Suggestion: Leapfrog upgrading, aim straight for the ultimate form.
Start by raising the Cannon to Tier 1 Level 10 to ensure survival.
Save money, skip the detailed polishing of Tier 2, and upgrade directly to Tier 3 in one go.
Tier 3 Cannons have a qualitative leap in explosion range and power, serving as the only guarantee against small monsters breaching the defense line in the late game.
Time Warp

Attack Characteristic: [Support/Aura] Area slow, no damage.
Combat Role: Strategic core. It significantly reduces enemy movement speed, effectively increasing the attack time of all offensive towers. Without Time Warps, even the highest damage output cannot finish off the fast monsters in the late game.
Exclusive Upgrade Strategy:
Mechanism: Divided into 3 stages, with 5 levels per stage.
Suggestion: Prioritize stacking Tiers.
The upgrade cost for Time Warps is relatively low.
It is recommended to ignore levels and prioritize evolving it directly to Tier 3.
Tier 3 Time Warps have the widest slow effect and coverage range, maximizing the output of Cannons and Torches.
III. Comprehensive Layout Strategy
Combining the above mechanics, a solid defensive formation usually looks like this:
Location Selection: Set up defenses at "U-shaped" or "L-shaped" corners of the map to keep enemies exposed to fire for the longest time.
Firepower Network Construction:
Inner Circle (Close Range): Place Torches (single-target melting of high HP monsters) and Cannons (close-range AoE clearing of small monster groups).
Outer Circle (Far Range): Place Ballistas to use their long range for whittling down health and finishing off enemies at the rear.
Core Coverage: Time Warps must cover all the aforementioned core firepower zones, forcing enemies to take massive damage within the slow zones.
Pace Control: Use Ballistas to transition through the early game; use Cannons for AoE defense in the mid-game; rely entirely on the combination of high-tier Torches and Time Warps to tank elite monsters in the late game.
The core of this playstyle lies in using Cannons to solve the "quantity" problem and Torches to solve the "quality" problem, while strictly adhering to the resource allocation iron rules of "max level before evolving" or "rush to Tier 3" you provided.
