Origin

Long before life came into being — before even the universe itself was formed — there existed Light and Void.
The Light was boundless and timeless, an endless radiant ocean shimmering with every color imaginable. Beneath its infinite surface surged vast currents of life energy, their motion composing a symphony of joy and hope.

The Pantheon:The sea of Light was ever-shifting and boundless. Yet as it expanded, some of its brilliance dimmed and faded, leaving behind vast, cold voids. Within these dark hollows — beyond the reach of Light — a new power began to stir. This power was the Void, a vampiric darkness that sought to consume all energy and twist all of creation.

The Void grew stronger, its influence spreading, until it clashed with the surging waves of Light. The tension between these opposing yet inseparable forces intensified until it erupted in a cataclysmic series of explosions. The collision shattered the fabric of existence and gave birth to a new realm — the material universe.

From the violent conflict of Light and Void, raw energies surged through the newborn cosmos. Matter coalesced and spun into countless primordial worlds. Over vast ages, this ever-expanding universe — the Great Dark Beyond — swirled in a tempest of fire and arcane energy. The most unstable of these energies condensed into a volatile dimension known as the Twisting Nether, where Light and Void clashed endlessly, keeping the realm in perpetual chaos.

Though the Nether lay beyond the boundary of the material world, its unstable energies occasionally breached into reality, warping and reshaping creation. The cosmic birth also scattered fragments of Light across existence. These shards, infused with the spark of life, seeded countless worlds with wondrous and terrifying creatures.

Among the earliest forms of life were the Elemental Spirits — primal beings of fire, water, earth, and air. They existed on nearly every world, born from the chaos of creation’s dawn.

Sometimes, scattered clouds of radiant Light gathered and formed greater entities of immense power. Among them were the Naaru, beings of pure holy energy. Gazing across the endless expanse, they saw a universe filled with infinite potential. They swore to use their divine magic to spread hope and nurture life wherever they traveled.

Even more extraordinary were the Titans, whose souls — known to mortals as world-souls — slumbered deep within the fiery cores of certain worlds. For ages they slept, their energies suffusing the planets around them. When they finally awoke, each Titan was a living world unto itself — vast, majestic, and radiant with cosmic power. The winds of the universe swept across their colossal forms, stardust cloaked their bodies, and silver oceans and mountain ranges glimmered with latent magic. Their eyes shone like burning stars as they beheld the newborn cosmos with awe and wonder.

While the Naaru devoted themselves to preserving life, the Titans embarked on a different path — a grand and endless journey across the Great Dark Beyond, seeking others of their kind. Their voyage would one day shape the destiny of all creation and alter the fate of countless worlds forever.

Titans and the Birth of Order

When the Titans awoke, they found the universe in chaos. Using their arcane power, they brought balance to fire, air, earth, and water. The greatest among them formed the Pantheon, creators of cosmic order and guardians against the spreading Void. Thus began the age of order in the universe.

No one knows when or why the first Titan awakened, but legend names him Aman’Thul. Though he was alone, Aman’Thul sensed that others like him must exist. Driven by this belief, he journeyed through the vast Great Dark Beyond, seeking his kin across countless worlds. His mission was long and lonely, yet filled with purpose and hope.

In time, he discovered other world-souls — slumbering Titans within the hearts of newborn worlds. With care and compassion, Aman’Thul nurtured them, awakening each in turn. Together, they united to form the Pantheon, a gathering of noble and orderly beings dedicated to bringing harmony to the cosmos.

The Pantheon possessed a natural affinity for the latent magic of the universe. Aware of their immense power, they established laws for the civilizations they encountered — laws that even the unruly elemental spirits were compelled to obey. The Titans knew that maintaining order was essential in their search for others of their kind.

On every world they visited, they sought traces of a world-soul. They calmed raging elements, reshaped continents and seas, and breathed life into ordered worlds, hoping to awaken the sleeping Titan within. Yet most of the time, they found none. Even so, the Pantheon vowed to protect and preserve all worlds, with or without a world-soul.

They blessed primitive life with strength and wisdom, ensuring that the ordered worlds they forged would flourish. To maintain their creation, they built vast machinery of oversight across worlds — constructs capable of monitoring evolution and purging corruption should life stray from its intended path.

To aid in this task, Aman’Thul enlisted the help of the Constellar, mysterious celestial beings who acted as observers over Titan-shaped worlds. These watchers stood ever vigilant, ready to activate cleansing protocols to reset a world if chaos or instability took root.

Through countless ages, the Pantheon’s discoveries grew rarer, but their resolve never waned. They knew the cosmos was endless — their eons of exploration had barely glimpsed the surface of creation’s vast design. Yet, far beyond the reach of their light, dark forces in the distant Void were already stirring, weaving their own dreadful schemes.

The Birth of the Void Lords and the Old Gods

From the very moment the universe was born, dark spirits within the Void sought to twist reality into an eternal nightmare. These entities became known as the Void Lords.

Hidden within the shadows, they observed the Pantheon, watching the Titans as they shaped and nurtured worlds across the cosmos. Envious of their power, the Void Lords resolved to corrupt one of these mighty world-shapers and turn it into a weapon of darkness — a servant of their will.

To achieve this, they tried to pierce the boundaries of the material universe, channeling fragments of their power into reality. Their corrupting touch twisted unsuspecting mortal beings into monstrous abominations. Yet the noble Titans stood firm, unyielding against such insidious darkness.

Realizing they could not corrupt a living Titan directly, the Void Lords devised a far more sinister plan: to infect a world-soul before it awoke — to seed corruption deep within the heart of a sleeping Titan.

But the Void Lords did not know which worlds contained world-souls. In desperation, they gathered their power and hurled clusters of dark, living flesh across the cosmos — the Old Gods — to infest as many worlds as possible, hoping one might strike true.

Countless of these hideous creations drifted into the Great Dark Beyond, spreading corruption wherever they landed, poisoning mortal realms and scarring the fabric of creation.

Over time, these monstrous beings became known as the Old Gods, the physical manifestations of the Void’s madness.

The Titans were aware of the Void’s energy in the universe but knew nothing of the Void Lords or their creations. At that time, the Pantheon faced another urgent threat — the demons, savage creatures born of the Twisting Nether, driven by hatred and chaos, consuming all life in their path.
